Cate Melville is an historical romance author who loves all thing historical. Before she could read, she was often found with a book in her hands looking at pictures of long forgotten worlds. It’s no wonder she went on to graduate with a double Bachelor’s degree in Classics and Medieval Studies. She also holds a PhD focusing on ancient literature.

The other love of her life is travel. She has lived on several continents, and traveled off the beaten track in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.

When she is not writing, she can be found reading, or rereading, her favourite books, discovering the wilderness of New Zealand, or sharing a meal (excellent wine always included) with friends.

Cate lives in the beautiful South Island of New Zealand with her own Scottish hero, and their two wee dogs, Poppy and Lily.
